What's In Store For 2021
She SUPs is BACK and I’m so excited to return for another year of amazing SUP adventures with you all!
In-person paddles will commence from Sunday 10th January, with Sunrise SUP Sessions returning to Manly, from Tuesday 12th January and Rose Bay from Friday 15th January. SUP Confidence lessons start this Sunday 10th January (that session is currently FULL) and will be running every fortnight.
The booking system is open and spots are filling fast for all sessions! It’s SO awesome to see so many paddlers, eager to return for more SUP fun this year. Thank you so much for continuing to support She SUPs and fuel our mission to get more women out on the water!
As for what’s in store for later in 2021, welllll I have some big plans…
Have no fear if you’re not based in Sydney, this year we will be providing MORE ways for women ACROSS Australia to get involved with the community and bring the She SUPs spirit to your paddle locations…
We have some great collaborations lined up…
Once COVID allows, trips will return in full force, including crowd favourites such as She SUPs Canberra, She SUPs South Coast Retreat and She SUPs Hunter Valley, plus a few extra surprises.
For those who fancy taking their SUP adventures to the next level, we will be trialling a couple of small-group SUP camping expeditions this year!
And… well… the rest is going to be a surprise ;)
HOWEVER, while I have a 1001 ideas, I’d actually love to hear from YOU! She SUPs is YOUR community, therefore I would love to know what you would like from She SUPs this year. Click the button below to throw your ideas into the mix - no matter where you are, I want to hear from you!!
Next up, we need to discuss COVID19.
Unfortunately, it looks like COVID19 is set to stick around a little longer, therefore we will be making some small tweaks and changes to keep everyone who attends in-person paddles, and our wider community safe.
This includes:
I will be asking a few more questions when you book a session to ensure you’re safe to paddle (see below)
Those attending Sunrise SUPs in Manly and hiring a SUP will have to wear a face mask when arriving and checking in by the SUP cages, as part of the Manly Kayak Centre COVID Safe Plan. You do not need to wear a mask once on the beach, and on the water. If you BYO board, please meet us on the beach, not by the SUP cages.
Please ALWAYS bring your mobile phone to check-in for any paddle. You will have the option to store them in a waterproof bag or lock them on-site if you do not have your own waterproof bag. (If you wanted, you could get your own waterproof waist pack HERE)
In some circumstances, you may be instructed to ‘check-in’ twice. One is the NSW Health QR Code to check-in for the location for contract tracing purposes. The second code is a digital waiver that you must sign to participate in the activity. The government are now enforcing the NSW Health QR Code for some of our locations and unfortunately, my digital waiver cannot be integrated. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
We must socially distance during all beach briefings. Please keep 1.5m away from other paddlers when you arrive.
I will be cleaning down boards and paddles before and after each session. If you arrive early for your paddle, please respect this can take a while and so I may not be able to chitchat while cleaning. Please don’t touch any equipment until you’re told to do so.
Additionally, to ensure the safety of yourself, others and the wider community, I ask that anyone who:
has recently been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID19
has any symptoms related to COVID19 such as fever, coughing, sore throat or sneezing
has visited a COVID19 hotspot within the last 7 days of their paddle
or is awaiting COVID19 test results
does not attend a paddle. If this is the case for you, please reach out to gain more information about rescheduling or receiving a refund.
If you have any further questions regarding our COVID safe plan, please email vikki@shesups.com.au and I’ll answer them directly.
I will be reminding everyone of these new operating procedures as and when you book into sessions and hopefully, we can adjust and it will become the new normal.
That’s it for now. More updates will come in the coming days.
Cannot wait to paddle with you, whether that’s in person or virtually! And as always, if you ever have any questions - I’m here to help.
Happy paddling!
