SUP Ball

Have you heard about SUP Ball? Similar to Netball, played on SUPs and guaranteed to be the most fun you’ve had in ages!

WHAT IS SUP BALL?

SUP Ball is an amazingly fun game played on paddle boards, where two teams pass a ball up and down an ocean ‘court’ (marked by two big orange buoys), and aim to throw the ball at the buoy in order to ‘score’ a goal. If you’re scared of falling off your SUP, SUP ball is actually one of the best ways to learn to fall and get comfortable getting on and off your board. A previous She SUPs paddler described it as ‘liberating’ because after her first SUP Ball game, she’d lost the fear of falling and then felt excited about trying new things with her SUP.

ABILITY LEVEL

Suitable for beginners! The great thing about SUP Ball is that it’s IDEAL for ALL ABILITIES. If you don’t feel comfortable standing, have no fear - you may find you play a lot of the game on your knees anyway! If you’d like to take a lesson first before this experience click here to check out our lessons.

WEATHER

The She SUPs team will be in touch with you via SMS if the weather (in particular wind) conditions look unsafe to paddle and we will arrange to reschedule the paddle or provide a refund. Please assume we are proceeding as normal if you don't hear from us, and trust that we will never run a paddle if it's unsafe to do so. Often generalist forecasts like Apple and Google forecasts are not accurate enough for paddling, so your instructor will be analysing more in-depth weather charts to decide whether to proceed.

MEETING POINT

This experience takes place in the harbour side of Manly, which is easiest to reach via public transport. Full details about meeting point, parking/travel and what to wear/bring are shared once you have booked in for this experience.

CAN I BRING MY OWN SUP?

For this session all stand-up paddleboarding equipment is provided to ensure the equipment is suitable for the game! Boards can also get quite ‘bashed up’ during a game, so you’ll probably be grateful to be using one of the hire boards not your own!
